 Accomplishements:
The success of Shoulder to Shoulder is directly related to the success of the Bega Kwa Bega Companion Synod Program of the ELCA, the generosity of individual and congregational financial support, and the expert advice from partnering organizations.  We rely on a shared vision between our Tanzanian colleagues and ourselves and seek goals of sustainability, accountability and positive communication in all of our endeavors.
Goals for 2008

Construction:

Complete the King Foundation Education Center building

Complete the Trauma and Casualty Building

Begin construction on nursing school dormitories

Improve the access road to the hospital

Develop appropriate signage for the Hospital/Education complex

Begin upgrades of other Iringa Lutheran dispensaries

Equipment and Supplies:

Ship next container to Ilula including dental supplies and computers

Equip the Trauma Center and Education building

Obtain other needed supplies for Ilula: washing machine, etc

Publicity:

Continued update of website, www.ilulahealth.org

Initiated construction of the King Foundation Education Center

Initiated construction of an X-ray and Casualty building for triage of road-side accidents

Completed construction of an incinerator to manage medical waste

Completed construction of Tungamalenga Dispensary In-patient Ward

Portable ultrasound machine obtained January 2007

40 ft container shipped by GHM October 2006, arrived February 2007

Produced an updated high-quality informational brochure

Produced a new high quality informational DVD

Completion of the Multi-purpose clinic building

Initiate construction of a 4-bedroom and two 2-bedroom houses for short term medical mission
